Rebecca began her career as a Behavioral Therapist working in schools, day care centers, and providing home-based services. It was here that she discovered the link between behavior and communication and her passion for speech and language was born. She received her masters degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from San Diego State University where she focused on early intervention, preschool programs, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She went on to become a traveling therapist and has worked across a variety of settings including home-based, outpatient pediatrics, teletherapy, public schools, intervention teams, and private schools. She holds her clinical competencies through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in California, Illinois, and Washington DC. She is trained in Social Thinking™, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Communication Severity Scales. Rebecca’s clinical experiences include working with children birth to 22 years of age with a variety of disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Emotional Disturbance, articulation and phonological disorders, expressive/receptive language delays, and pragmatic language deficits. In addition to being a Speech Language Pathologist, Rebecca is a certified yoga instructor. She is passionate about strong team collaboration, taking a holistic approach, natural learning environments, and mindfulness. When Rebecca isn’t working, you can find her exploring the great outdoors and getting experimental in the kitchen. Her hobbies include baking, cooking, hiking, paddle boarding, flying small planes, and spending time with loved ones.
